Undefeated!
You’re right Oscar winner. This is ridiculous. Memphis needs a win.

I bought groceries!
and forgot to buy black beans.
How is it possible
that international flights from Miami and Ft. Lauderdale costs the same or less than domestic flights from Memphis?
It's a miracle.
Fell asleep around midnight. Woke up around 11. Who am I, and why am I sleeping so much?
Today is gonna be a good day.
Got a whole 8 hours of sleep and Dunkin Donuts is giving free samples of coffee. Oh yeah.

Sleep...
should come easy to someone who works on her feet for 9+ hours a day, not to mention all the planning/grading that goes on outside of school. But as luck would have it, I still wake up at 5 in the morning on the weekends. I need Hypnos to pay me a serious visit ASAP.
So....
I finished watching Buffy for the second time. Now it’s time to watch 30 Rock for the third time. I love watching the same shows over and over and over.

Things that weird me out.
People who feel the need to hang out only with people of their same race/ethnicity/orientation/religion.

Books for Innovators! →
I’m starting a donor’s choose project for my 7th grade students. I’m picking two levels of books, Hunger Games for my students on and below grade level and Lord of the Flies for my advanced class. I’m planning a unit on dystopian situations. Any help you can give would be awesome. We have yet to do a novel study and I would love to get some real books in their hands. If you...
itgoesthroughyourhead asked: Comcast blows. A month ago I called them to sign up for cable/internet in my new apartment -- the guy sells me a decent package: fast internet, HD DVR free for 3 months, etc. The technician came six hours late, gave me the wrong box, my bill nearly tripled the next month, and apparently my decent cable package didn't exist and I was being billed for stuff I thought was supposed to be free.

2011 is pretty much dead, and to prevent it from having unfinished business in the earthly realm and returning as a zombie to exact revengeance on us all, let’s try to remember the good parts. Keep it positive, what’s something pretty cool that happened to you this year?
I got my masters. I fell in love. I went to Canada. How about you?
Thoughts on 2011
It was the best of times, it was the most heart wrenching, soul shattering of times. 2011 has been without a doubt the best and worst year of my life. I lost my mother, fell in love, finished my Master’s, moved to Memphis, got my heart broken, and felt completely unhinged for the first time in my life. I met some amazing people (this has definitely been the best year as far as roommates go)....
